Ingo Schultze-Schnabl arbeitet mit mehrteiligen Bildkompositionen, in denen einzelne Flächen bewusst voneinander getrennt sind. Diese Anordnung lenkt den Blick und aktiviert den Betrachter: Leerstellen werden gedanklich ergänzt, Zusammenhänge entstehen im eigenen Wahrnehmen.
Die Mehrteiligkeit folgt dabei keiner erzählerischen Abfolge, sondern spiegelt die Art wider, wie wir Welt erfahren – fragmentarisch, tastend, zusammensetzend. Schultze-Schnabls Malerei reflektiert diesen Prozess und macht ihn erfahrbar.
Aus der Nähe zeigen sich differenzierte Farben und Spuren, aus der Distanz fügt sich das Bild neu. Bedeutungen entstehen, verändern sich und werden wieder in Frage gestellt. Die Arbeiten eröffnen einen Raum des Sehens und Denkens, in dem Wahrnehmung nicht festgelegt ist, sondern in Bewegung bleibt.
Ingo Schultze-Schnabl, 1953 geboren, hat Kunst und Englisch studiert. Seine Werke wurden u. a. in zahlreichen Einzelausstellungen gezeigt. Durch seine Kontakte war er an zahlreichen internationalen Projekten beteiligt, etwa in China, Japan, Großbritannien und den USA. Er lebt und arbeitet in Neunkirchen in einer ländliche Region zwischen Köln, Frankfurt und Dortmund.
The paintings of Ingo Schultze-Schnabl are composed of several separate pictorial fields, „multipanel paintings“, placed at a distance from one another. These intervals invite the viewer to move between the elements, to connect them and to form a sense of the whole.
Rather than telling a story, the works reflect a basic human experience: we understand the world through fragments and assemble our own images of reality. This process lies at the centre of Schultze-Schnabl’s artistic approach.
From nearby, individual colours and traces come into focus; from further away, the composition unfolds differently. Meanings emerge and are reconsidered. The paintings invite viewers to spend time with them, allowing seeing and thinking to develop together.
Ingo Schultze-Schnabl was born in 1953 and has studied Arts and English. His work has been shown in numerous solo exhibitions and due to his international contacts in projects in China, Japan, Poland, USA and the UK. He lives and works in Neunkirchen/Siegerland, a village in the countryside between Cologne, Frankfurt and Dortmund.

We would like to inform you about a new art project launched by the Copelouzos Family Art Museum. Copelouzos Family Art Museum is located in Athens, Greece and it is a privately-owned contemporary art Museum.
This art project is titled the “COV-ART PROJECT”. We invite artists from all over the world to participate through their creation on a mask made of canvas which we distribute to them.
With this initiative we want to show that creativity does not stop even in this difficult time period and art is always present giving a way out to any social issue. We also want to emphasize the importance of the use of mask and its central role in tackling this pandemic.
The participating artists, by accepting this invitation, offer through their creations, a different perspective to all of us, reminding us that art has the ability in every difficult side of life to influence and convey messages simply, loudly, clearly. A picture is worth a thousand words.
It would be a great pleasure and honor for us if you participate in this project which will be accompanied by a luxurious edition that will present all these creations of the artists on the masks. We will distribute this edition to other art collectors, friends of the Museum and partners of Copelouzos Group of companies. Of course, all participating artists will also receive it.
In addition, all these creations will be uploaded on an Instagram page dedicated for the COV-ART Project.
